The Spanish tanker which picked up Kuert was bound for Aruba, and it was there he was turned over to the United States authorities. The author merely recounted as background the story of the 1942 attack.

Regarding the DOGGERBANK (ex SPEYBANK), in 1965, Charles Gibson copyrighted \"The Ship With Five Names\", published by Abelard-Schuman of London, New York, and Toronto. This is an excellent account of the vessel\'s wanderings from the time of its capture until departing the Far East, headed home. Several crew members remained behind in Japan and provided much information for the author. Of note is the fact, that he, as do I, has questions concerning Kuert\'s knowledge of what transpired on the voyage and the attack and his survival in the small boat. Bosuns generally don\'t know what is happening on the bridge.
