Hello Mark,
The National Archives had a catalogue of their U-boat microfilms "Records Relating to U-boat Warfare 1939-1945" (263 pages, published in 1985). I am not sure if this is still in print but if you need assistance for a specific U-boat send me an e-mail and I will be happy to oblige.
Cost of a microfilm is 68 USD (includes postage in USA and Canada at least).
Be aware that the microfilm holds about a 1000 pages and in a few instances you may have to buy 2 microfilms for a single U-boat. On an average a microfilm will cover 4 or 5 U-boats. Of course the price is high if the KTB has only a few pages. Some patrol reports are lost, I believe a few were never photographed because they were located much later.
Best regards,
Platon
