<HTML>Dear Teddy Bear and Robert:
According to Rohwer, on the 28th at 0232 German time (which means it was approaching 2400 Canadian time on the 27th), U-165 (Hoffman) damaged the 7,252 ton American tanker LARAMIE, sank the 3,304 ton American freighter ARLYN, and claimed damage to another 5,000 ton vessel. At 0844 German time on the 28th, U-517 (Hartwig) delivered a coup de grace to the LARAMIE. Including the CHATHAM, all of these actions occurred in approximately 52-degrees N, 56-degrees W.
These vessels were in Convoy SG-6 (Sydney to Greenland) and were exiting the Strait of Belle Isle which separates Labrador from Newfoundland.
Cordially.
George.
PS. Robert, you mean there are roads out of Iqaluit! </HTML>
