Hi Ben B & Kurt !

Commander James E Stevens in US Sub FLOUNDER
sighted \" an object wich looked like a native sail\",
on the eve of 9 Nov 1944,and that turned out to be
the connig tower of U-537,
so Kurt is correct when he says that this U-boat was also
attacked while on the surface.
After a cautious approach FLOUNDER fired a spread of 4 torps,
and at least one hit;U-537 disintegrated, leaving no survivors.

On 23 April -45 Lieutenant Commander Herman E Miller
in US Sub BESUGO sighted the surfaced Jap flagged U-183,
and fired a spread of 6 torps at a range of 1 500 yards,
of wich at least one hit.
Like Kurt says there was only one survivor,(the navigator).
