Captain Bligh,
Believe it. IT NEVER HAPPENED. You are using what we used to call at College'The Invisible Hippopotamus' argument. ie. Prove there isn't an invisible Hippo in the room... Can't be done my friend. It could have happened but it didn't. You suggest that German record keeping was not all it should have been. Anyone with even a passing knowledge of WW11 would know that the Germans kept meticulous records. This attention to the keeping of accurate records cost a good number of men their lives at the Nurnberg War Trials. Not one record exists of any German submarines being given aid by the Irish people,I defy you to find any such record. Also, in the 60+ years since the end of the war not ONE uboat man has ever admitted to having been helped by the Irish people.
I haven't seen your name here before so I can only assume you are new to the the study of the Battle of the Atlantic. There are people here who are possessed of encyclopaedic knowledge of the whole uboat war. I suggest you listen to what they have to say. I suppose it is possible that uboats sailed into Torquay and the crew had lunch at Fawlty Towers..... But THAT didn't happen either.
