U-353 commanded by OL Wolfgang Romer, had an interesting insignia.It was of a Greek, possibly Spartan hoplite,bearing a small circular shield on his left arm, right arm raised carrying sword. Warrior facing left.Look at page 94, Hogels U-Boat Emblems of WW2.
