Dear Francesco,

Thank you very much for your information. I have no problem understanding your English and feel free to communicate with me in Italian as I understand it reasonably well. I am afraid that my written Italian is rather poor.
I assume that Murzi whent on U-37 on the patrol of 24 September to 22 October 1940? Can you confirm this as I am guessing at this as his boat BAUSAN was refitting in Fiume at the time?
My notes taken during visits at the Ufficio Storico show that he took command successively of DES GENEYS, BARBARIGO and finally AMMIRAGLIO MILLO. He had a car accident at Tripoli in December 1941 which seems to have terminated his career as an active submarine commander although I think he took over the command of a Grupsom in 1942.

On the subject of the Italian U-boats, I have been unable to find out who was in command of S.4?
