Dear Platon
On the mission of Murzi sull' U 37, I should monitor of Ufficio Storico in its connection, but I assume that is actual the mission from 22 September to October 22 1940.
The Commander of the submarine S. 4 was the lieutenant of vessel Angelo Amendolia, already commanding the submarine BAGNOLINI.
Cf., Francesco Mattesini, “L’armistizio e l’8 Settembreâ€, II Tomo – Documenti (“Composizione della Marina Italiana alla data dell’8/9/1943â€, Documento n. 111 , pag. 586), Ufficio Storico della Marina Militare, Roma, 2002.
From how much it nell results' best and quite documented book of Corrado Capone "Sono fiero di Voiâ€, The story of the ours glorious "boats" during it the war 1940-1943 and the memory of the crews that gave the life to the Homeland, (Istituto Grafico Editoriale Italiano, Napoli, 1996), the captain of corvette Murzi commanded the submarine DES GENEYS from January 19 to June 17 1941. It carried out therefore the mission in Atlantic with the submarine BARBARIGO, in the July 1941, for then to go to command 7° Gruppo Sommergibili of the Maddalena. After Armistice dell' Italy, the 24/10/1943, Murzi named the Order of the naval group of Augusta.
It does not result that it have commander the MILLO, that was to the orders of the captain of corvette Vincenzo d' Amato.
It hoping to be been you useful,
I salute you
Francesco
