Hi All,
“Suppliers of the Grey Wolves” is indeed a good book & it is up to the high standards set by their “Uboot im Focus” magazines.
It is a large book weighing from 3 to 4 pounds and is printed in both German and English on high quality paper and contains some excellent photos that I had never seen before including a few super rare photos taken inside a Type XIV U-boat.
It is expensive but I agree with Ken, its worth it. It helps fill a gap in the history of the U-boat War. The Type XIV U-boats are mentioned in various U-boat books all the time but there is very little written specifically about them. It has been several years since I read my copy of White, John F. “U-Boat Tankers 1941-45 Submarine Suppliers to Atlantic Wolf Packs” so I can’t exactly compare the two books right now but “Suppliers of the Grey Wolves” contains over 300 photos and current research. “U-Boat Tankers” includes boats used as tankers that weren’t Type XIVs and “Suppliers of the Grey Wolves” is only about the Type XIVs so there is good reason to have both books.
If you want to order it from someplace in the U.S. you can order it on-line from: [www.rzm.com]. That’s where I got mine. Their price is U.S. $85.00.
Regards,
Ken Dunn
