<HTML>I almost forgot--there\'s one other glaring error--in two parts. The movie makes a big deal out of the Germans sending out a \"supply sub.\" If that means a Milchkuh (Milk Cow) sub, a Type XIV (it doesn\'t necessarily mean that, considering how far \"out to sea\" the movie is when it comes to historical accuracy), here\'s my objections:
1. a Type XIV sub was shorter and fatter than a Type VII. (The U. S. boat was made up to look like a Type VII.) One obvious thing the commander of the U-571 would have noticed was the deck gun. A Type XIV didn\'t have one.
2. Wasn\'t it cute when the real supply sub showed up and squeezed off all those torpedoes? That showed a great deal of skill on the part of the skipper, since a supply sub DIDN\'T HAVE TORPEDO TUBES.</HTML>
