This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

<HTML>I suggest Attack and Sink. I am not quite sure most people have heard of it, but I can assure you it\'s very well researched and written.
It\'s sort of a refreshing spin on U-Boats. It\'s not a first hand account of a German in a sub, but more or less a summary of convoy crossing the Atlantic during 1941, when Wolfpacks were common threats. It really exposes the danger of a seaman on a convoy ship, and the anxiety of men in a U-boat.
It also does a bang-up job in explaining the tactics of Wolpacks, and you learn more about how they operated. It isn\'t until a while into the book that you get the humbling impression of what it was like traveling across the mighty sea, as well as the fears and concerns of men on the boats.
To add to the threat of German subs, the huge convoy of 65 ships was escorted by only a destroyer and two corvettes, and they have to make across the \"The Black Pit\" where air support is nonexistent. It\'s only until they reach Greenland where extra navy escorts can support them, but it take a few days to reach there, making them quite vulnerable to the Wolfpack group \"Markgraf\", which consists of 18+ U-Boats.
Hope I could help
