This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

<HTML>Hi,
I also decided to write about my fav U-Boat books
The books I like, are:
-Odysee of a U-Boat Commander - Erich Topp
-Silent Hunter - ? Salvas (or so)
-Das Boot (The Boat) - Lothar-Günther Buchheim
-Die Festung - Lothar-Günther Buchheim
(Not a book about U-Boats, but whoever is interested in what happend
after the war to Kptl. Lehmann-Willenbrock, will like this book I think)
-Wölfe (Wolfs) -Jordan Vause
I really like the book by Jordan Vause (I am not 100% sure what exactly the title was, something with Wolf I think). In my opinion, he writes very objectiv; he explains facts to the reader but he does not put much value into it. Usually in the books I read so far, the author speaks either positive about the U-Boat navy and the commanders or negativ. But Vause lets the reader decide what was \"good\" and what wasn\'t. He looks very critical at the information he has about people, operations, etc.
I also think it is very well written with lots of \'background\' knowledge.
BTW: Welcome Anna!
Great seeing another female around
...and my English ain\'t that good either.
bye, Dakota</HTML>
