<HTML>U-571 "reviews of the movie" should not be Yank Bashing......the movie for better or for worse was made to make money , if we went to the cinema or rented the tape/dvd we supported it.....Catch -22 , we all watched it.
having watched it we mostly see it as for what it is a thinly disguised plot to get hands on cash.
The british film industry is not in a position to make big multi million pound movies on what the poor brits did.....they won't make money in the states.
An act that would be hard to follow.......the raid on St.Nazaire , or P.Q.17.
Until then we will have to make do with what is made by others.....if the movie industry stimulates people to read and learn about the fact behind the fiction something postive will have resulted.
Until then "best picture based on maxium historical attention to detail...." 571 !!!!!!!</HTML>
