German G7e torpedoes would be crushed as soon as the tube was being flooded for equalization. The breech door locking ring would've let go and if the muzzle door was open, it would be the end of the U-boat. That's a 21" (53.3cm) hole in the boat. that would've caused her to make her final dive.
