In addition, he spends I think part of every day typing up or dictating to a crew member his feelings on national socialism and what every proper German officer should do, ect. There are short scenes in which this takes place.
I just watched Das Boot twice in the past week; the bolts seen shooting out are only shown to have come from pipes, I can't recall any scenes of them coming from the actual sub's main body.
I agree on the depth charging. Besides, some of the depth charges were just below the sub it seemed. Surely these would have caused serious damage.
The worst detail I think is the aircraft attacking the sub at Gibralter. What the hell is it? It sure doesn't look like a fighter aircraft, or navy aircraft for that matter.</HTML>
