The version I'm talking about is the original made for TV miniseries as I remember it being shown on the BBC in the early 80's. It is in six volumes/episodes, each 50 - 55 mins give or take credits/continuity links etc. Mine is the full frame version subtitled in English, in PAL format and purchased through a UK (ie European) outlet.
There are three copyright notices on the boxes -
'1982 Bavaria Atelier GMBH',
then 'Columbia Pictures Industries Inc.'
and finally 'Layout and design 1997 Columbia Tristar Home Video'.
The logo on the front of the boxes is Columbia Tristar Home Video.
It says it was manufactured in the UK and distributed by Sony Music Operations.
As it is PAL format it must be primarily for a European market rather than the US.
John, I think you meant to say NTSC, which is the American / Canadian format.I think I may have a source on that, in January. I'll e-mail you when I have something more definite.
