U-boat oddities

<HTML>Perhaps the most bizarre appearance of a U-boat in a film occurred in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.

The boat in question was, allegedly, the same mock-up that played U-96 in 'Das Boot' (I don't know if anyone can confirm this).

A couple of rather odd things about this particular boat:

First, it appears to have a TARDIS like interior - it is clearly much larger on the inside than the outside, since it has not only room for (presumably) a full crew, but also the Ark of the Covenant and a large number of soldiers.

Secondly, our hero, Indiana Jones, manages to stow away on board. One may speculate as to where he was hiding - in a torpedo tube, perhaps? Or maybe wedged in the gap between the outer and inner hulls? Either that or he is very good at holding his breath and clung to the outside, because the boat dived virtually the moment he was on deck. How he managed to get off again unseen with the U-boat's base crawling with Germans - and the crew still on deck - is another mystery.

I would be interested to know if anyone knows of any other similar U-boat oddities in film.
