17:27 - Back from vacation, some 200 new e-mails to handle since I left :)
22:39 - I will be in Copenhagen, Denmark for a short vacation from April 20 - 27 (one week) and it's clear that I will not be able to get the forum running before I board the flight (also a factor is this 12-hour a day job I have). I'll fix it when I get back (it's the only real problem remaining) but it's been so much work so far and it should have been online days ago but somehow it does not work.
17:27 - I've updated the map of the US East Coast with the positions of the U-boats scuttled there post-war.
17:27 - U-boat discovered off Nova Scotia?
While search for more wreck from Swissair flight 111 crash in 1998 Canadian naval ships have located a sunken submarine. Some say this is the British vessel L26 while others suggest this is a U-boat (U-866 perhaps?). I have been unable to verify either version but it's clearly a boat down there in shallow waters but L26 seems more likely.
13:00 - We've added a nice article about the Sinking of SS Leopoldville on Dec 24, 1944 off Cherburg, France.
17:27 - New server almost 100% ready
Well it's all coming together now - minor tweaking left but the major elements are in place.
17:27 - New server takes over
The new server for uboat.net should be taking over any time now. If you are seeing this you're on the new machine. Some database problems have not been solved (some rare bug we've found it seems).
In addition to the items shown here above we made some 6 additions or changes in our databases during April 2000.
