HMS Khedive (Capt. A.R. Pedder, RN) conducted flying exercises off Trincomalee during which she was escorted by the escort destroyer HMS Calpe (A/Lt.Cdr. N.F.R. Gill, RNR).

Around 1050FG/30, a man was reported overboard by HMS Khedive. Despite searches by both ships he could not be found an was presumed drowned. (3)

Pelly, DSO, RN), HMS Emperor (Capt. C. Madden, RN), HMS Empress (Capt. J.R.S. Brown, RN), HMS Khedive (A/Capt. D.H. Magnay, RN) and the destroyers HMS Myngs (Capt. P.G.L. Cazalet, DSC, RN) (Capt. J.H. Allison, DSO, RN) and HMS Penn (Lt.Cdr. A.H. Diack, DSC, RN) conducted exercises off Trincomalee. (4)
