USS Biddle picks up 37 survivors of the American tanker Esso Boston that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-130 about 300 nautical miles north-east of St. Martins in position 21°42'N, 60°00'W.
23 Jun 1942
USS Biddle picks up 36 survivors of the American tanker E.J. Sadler that was shelled and finally sunk with scuttling charges the previous day by German U-boat U-159 about 175 nautical miles south of the Windward Passage in position 15°36'N, 67°52'W.
