Private First Class in A Company, 264th Infantry Regiment, 66th Infantry Division of Saginaw, MI. He was rescued unconscious by fishermen after floating in the water for 16 hours or more after the sinking of Leopoldville, revived and eventually reported back to his unit as last person that survived.
