Noel Henry Herbert Roberts was landed in Florida after having survived the sinking of Weirbank and spent six weeks in New York before being repatriated to the UK. He survived the war, remained at sea and became a captain until retiring in 1982. His last command was the 25,000 tons oil tanker British Tay.
