Personal information
Krijn Noordzij also survived the sinking of the Bandoeng by U-21 (KptLt Otto Hersing) on 22 February 1917.
He was one of the survivors who were picked up by Randa after the sinking of Maasdam and was also one of the 13 survivors who were rescued by Cubango after the sinking of Breediijk. Krijn never told anything about what took place during the war to his family. He had left the Netherlands in March 1940 and could finally return home in July 1945.
