Notes on event | U-77 reported that she had sunk eight sailing vessels with gunfire between 22 July and 16 August 1942. Six of these vessels were Vassiliki, Toufic El Rahman, St. Simon, Ezzet, Kharouf and Daniel. The Adnan was only damaged and a unidentified sailing vessel was sunk on 7 August. The Ezzet was sunk with 35 rounds from the deck gun about 25 miles east of Cyprus at 07.06 hours on 6 August 1942. |
