At 13.16 hours on 2 March 1945, U-995 fired a Gnat at a group of warships, observed a hit after 7 minutes 32 seconds and the sinking of an escort after a heavy detonation. The ship sunk was BO-224, which was on a submarine hunt together with the Soviet patrol craft BO-222 and BO-226.
