Notes on event

At 06.00 hours on 21 December 1944 U-995 attacked the unescorted Reshitel’nyj (approximately 20 tons) with gunfire near Mys Korabel’naya Pakhta. The motor boat capsized after being rammed by the U-boat, which then submerged and left the area. Tracers from the gunfire had been seen by observation posts at the coast and the Soviet submarine chaser MO-251 was sent from Iokanga to investigate. At 12.00 hours, the vessel arrived in the area, located the capsized wreck and picked up three crew members clinging to it. Two crew members and all 26 passengers were lost.
