History | When Germany invades Holland on 10 May 1940, HrMs O 12 was undergoing maintenance at the Rijkswerf (Navy Yard) at Den Helder. On 14 May 1940 she was scuttled to prevent her capture by the Germans. She was raised shortly afterwards and taken to the Wilton-Feijenoord shipyard at Schiedam for repairs. Commissioned by the Germans as UD-2 on 30 January 1943. |
