HMS Truant (Lt.Cdr. H.A.V. Haggard, DSO, DSC, RN) conduced exercises off Colombo with aircraft from HMS Illustrious (Capt. A.G. Talbot, DSO, RN, flying the flag of Rear-Admiral D.W. Boyd, CBE, DSC, RN) and HMS Formidable (Capt. A.W.LaT. Bisset, RN). During these exercises HMS Truant was escorted by HMS Overdale Wyke (?).
On her return to harbour, HMS Truant made four runs over the D/G range. (1)
24 Dec 1942
Around 1230FG/24, HrMs O 24 (Lt.Cdr. W.J. de Vries, RNN) ended her 14th war patrol at Colombo. She was escorted in by HMS Overdale Wyke (?) which had joined around 1000FG/24. (2)
29 Mar 1943
Around 1740FG/29, HrMs O 24 (Lt.Cdr. W.J. de Vries, RNN) ended her 17th war patrol at Colombo. She was escorted in by HMS Overdale Wyke (?) which had joined around 1445FG/29. (2)

Around 0945FG/3, HrMs O 24 (Lt.Cdr. W.J. de Vries, RNN) (Lt.Cdr. W.J. de Vries, RNN) ended her 21th war patrol at Colombo. She was escorted in by HMS Overdale Wyke (?) which had joined around 0745FG/3. (2)
27 Nov 1943
A 1040FG/27, HMS Taurus (Lt.Cdr. M.R.G. Wingfield, DSO, DSC, RN) ended her 8th war patrol (1st in the Far East) at Colombo.
She was escorted in by HMS Overdale Wyke (?) which had joined around 0900FG/27. (3)
20 Feb 1944
HMS Overdale Wyke and HMS Fara pick up 36 survivors from the Greek merchant Epaminondas C. Embiricos that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-168 on 15 February north of the Addu Atoll in position 01°30'N, 73°00'E.
