To get that sloped effect as you call it just take several peices of tubing each one the next size smaller than the other and put them together in the proper location so you will have that step down look to the barrel . Then add some putty to these " steps " and sand it round so you have a nice rounded " step " instead of a sharp " step " look to your new 88mm gun barrel .
