Hello Rodney Martin, seeing you are having trouble with choosing the correct terms for pipecovering. I assume that the pipes you refer to are heateing pipes which in this case aboard ship are covered with an asbestos cover thick enugh to insulate the pipe to keep the heat inside preventing burns when touching them.
As for the hammock hook ups they are referred to in Navy Lingo as Stendards, why, search me but that is what we were told.
