Ken,

I remember this...i think the island was Bornholm? ...not sure..i'll check up on this.
I know that the 'Walter' boats were very quiet in service,even when running on their turbines.The reason for this was that the walter boats dumped their exhaust overboard (mainly O2) and this gas acted like the 'praire-masker' system and
absorbed the noise of the turbines and their reduction gear.a comnet was that all that could be heard as the boat did its sound measurement trials was an indistinct 'breathing' sound.
