What about the detection range of surface vessel's passive hull sonars in the WW2?
I try to calculate the transmission loss using a very simplyfied experssion:
TL = 66dB + 10 log Range (mn) + 2alfa Range, and assumed the sound wold propagate in direct path ( to simplificate ), but in fact I do not have any information about the efficience of a WW2 passive sonar.
Could you give me some ligth in this respect?
