Hi Mark, hi Joe,
At any rate type 21 torp launching system was designed for max. -50m not 100m. Limitation were the torpedoes and the inner doors of the tube.
Remember, the watertightness of all hatches including the tubes outer doors was aided by the increasing outside pressure pressing the lid tighter and tighter on it's rim. With the outer doors open, the only prevention of water pouring inside, are a couple of Tobin Bronze flanges and bolts of the inner doors.
