Thanks Rainer, if 50m is good enough for Mr. Henke, it's good enough for me.
Besides, I just saw a mention of US WWII pneumatic tubes being limited to 200ft (60m) so I guess that makes a lot of sense.
Say, you wouldn't happen to know how the reloading system on the XXI worked, would you? All I know is:
a) It was at least partially automated
b) Groner lists reloading times as "first reload 11-15 mins, second reload 15.75-18.75 mins"
c) There's the oft-quoted figure of "three salvos in 18 minutes)
But... how did the torpedoes reload? Were they loaded in series (one at a time), or in parallel (two or more simultaneously)? And what the heck to Groner's numbers mean?
