So if the exercise rules are, diesel-electric boat runs on battery only, and nuke has to back down for duration of exercise, remaining within a box . . . . . and if the box is smaller than the battery range of the diesel-electric. Then . . . .

Of course if the diesel-electric has to recharge batteries, and the nuke can run ahead bells, then the box size in not so important, and the result is . . . . .
