Hello - I believe my grandfather, Jack Harrison, was part of the upper deck weapons crews on the pom-poms, so he was able to survive the torpedoing. He was a tailor by trade (before and after the war) and I think spent a lot of time his spare on board time sewing / fixing his shipmates kit. I know he 'shipped stripes' on the officer's uniforms. He is still alive and will be 102 years old in February. He has recounted his time in the water to me on many occasions. Is he the last member of the ship's company alive?
