Hello David W, Thank you for sending me all that information. I have been reliably informed that HMS Onslow did not receive the VC, it was definitely Captain Sherbrooke. My Father had a lot of respect for him and saw him as a very brave man, quite impetuous and daring. I think the error regarding the VC has been started by my Mum, she was always very proud of what she saw as fact "the Onslow was the only ship in the war to receive the Victoria Cross". Not that it matters now.
