I have been sorting out some old pics and trying to find some more about my Grandfather as im reseaching our family history. I came across a medical report for my Granddad who served in the RN and was wounded will serving on HMS ONSLOW on 31 dec 1942 with " gunshot wounds to both legs" he was sent to RN Auxiliary hospital Vaenga N Russia and transferred over 1943 to varies hospitals back in England. He always walked with a limp aS he still had some pieces of shrapnell in the legs. My mother tells me he was Mentioned in Despathes, i dont as yet knew the circumstances to this.He died in 1975 , when i was 10.
