Hmm, now I'm not so sure about things!! Admiralty position is 49-33 2-40, KTB position is 49-20 3-46. If there was an error I could understand one digit being different eg 49-33 3-40, however there are large differences in both latitude and longitude. Is there the possibility that there are 2 vessels with similar names sunk at a similar time? Were any unidentified vessels sunk near 49-33 2-40 at the reported date of sinking? Were any U-boats in the area at that time? Does UC26's KTB give a description that would fit the San Nicolau described in the admiralty records(tonnage,type of vessel?)?
