Hi Michael,

This makes sense. The British seemed to be seeing double (two u-boats instead of one) on quite a few occasions, including the sinking of the California by U-85, which is the focus of my research right now. The Captain of the California and quite a few crew and passengers swore there were two u-boats attacking that day, when of course there was only one (which was enough).

I'll add this to my notes and press onward.
