Hello,

Wow, the photo comparison is stunning. I will follow your suggestion but I will have to stumble along with translation software (again) to try and obtain information. I have had some success with Google Translate for German but I have no idea how good (or bad) the Russian translations will be...yet!

I found two more books referencing Kplt. Petz that are available via the New York Public Library:

Kriegs-Chronik der Munchner neuesten Nachrichten
Illustrierte Geschichte des Weltkrieges 1914/1919

I will be getting access to them a week from Monday so we will see what additional light they shed on his career (if any).
