<HTML>Gudmund, thank you for including me in the group allowed to preview the future members site. Although I am not a researcher I visit uboat.net almost on a daily basis. I liken browsing the Discussion Forum to reading a historical novel that has no ending. This novel is written by a multitude of authors from many nationalities, ages and backgrounds. The camaraderie exhibited, the spirit of giving and sharing is the engine that drives this site. A large percentage of these visitors like myself are military/history addicts.
Each new day presents a variety of new subject material that satisfies our addiction. I believe, this is the vehicle that attracts some 7500 visitors daily. Although, it is only a small percentage of these 7500 addicts that participate in postings, you will receive considerable support from the non-posters.
Why, the vast amount of information your site contains on U-Boats, their related activities, history, men in battle etc. is unparalleled.
That said, regards your decision on coming up with a program to defray expenses, which should be done, I only suggest you offer the site in its entirety. Yes, that includes the discussion forum. Step back, relax and take some time working out the nuts and bolts.
Whatever your decision, you have my support and subscription. I thank you and the other contributors for many interesting and educational hours this past year. Some time back I read that site visitor Tony was a 14 year old in England. If Tony is willing to accept, in the spirit of this Holiday Season I would like to acquire an additional subscription for Tony. Merry Christmas Tony.
