Cracking Enigma

<HTML>For some time now I though that the British has outright cracked the Naval Enigma code. After doing a little bit of research, I find that the term \"cracked\" may be highly inappropriate. The boarding of U110 in May of 1941 gave the British, in particular Alan Turing and his associates at Bletchley Park, a massive unforeseen break in their cryptographic efforts against Enigma, which up until that point had proved fruitless and arguably would have remained that way if U110 had not been boarded. Further, the boarding of U559 in October of 1942 and the capture of critical Enigma documents and settings ( I don\'t know if an actual machine was taken) practically gave the British the solution to solving the 4 wheel Enigma. Therefore I somewhat resent the use of the term \"cracked\" when in actuality it was not cracked in the strict sense of the word. I raise this point because of the perception that the British were brilliant enough to crack Enigma on their own, when in reality this is simply not true, and further, with out the fortunate obtainment of key Enigma documents, I firmly believe it never would have been cracked.
