Thank you for al your reactions !

I was wondering why the US did put so much pressure on the Argentine government to get two submarines of a type that were of no importance to them and of which they had more then they wanted. It doesn't seems logical and the explanation to prevent Argentine from having U-boats doesn't seem to be very logical neither and I doubt if it even can be taken serious. Question is why ?

A number of reactions that I got have also pointed me in the direction of a possible German base in the very south of Argentina. Anyone ever heard any rumours about that ?
