Hi Lio
One torpedo at a steamer of 6000 GRT. Speed 5 knots, distance 5000 meters. Fired from the bow with a straight course, steamer held course and speed. Unexplained miss.
New approach on two big shadows south hereof. Nearby two escorts. Approach on big freighter of 7000 GRT with passenger accomodation. Steamer has stopped, rescuing survivors of an earlier torpedoed tanker that sank at this position.
One torpedo (stern tube), heavy detonation amidships. Sank after about 4 minutes, apparently boiler explosion. New approach on the second shadow, steamer of about 4000 GRT, pure freighter. Stopped too, slight damage on stern. One stern torpedo. G7a. Bayonet to the right. Miss. New approach on the same steamer. One torpedo. Hit in the engine room. Sank after 5 minutes.
Nothing to see anymore of the convoy. Left at high speed southwards because an escort chases us. After we shook him off, converged on the suspected course of the scattered convoy to the east.
Best regards
Rainer
