Moehle wrote in his KTB that he heard a FT message from Blairesk saying that she was hit in 56°42' N, 19°14'W. So he supposed that she was hit by his torpedo shot but missing a tanker of 8000 tons as he clearly heard a detonation. Rohwer presumed that it could have been the Kolchis which was missing since november 23. Ritschel took this as granted, but it remains uncertain.
