<HTML>Frank,
What an interesting topic. I have been meaning to ask for some time what, if any, writing instruments would have been issued to the Kriegsmarine and U-boats in particular.
Any of the famous German makes such as Montblanc, Pelikan, Rotring, Lamy, Faber Castell, Staedetler, Eberhard Faber !
I would imagine that the pencil manufacturers did some business especially with the navigators and their charts. What would a KTB have been written with.
I had a look at the site you mentioned - rather interesting. I dont have much difficulty reading the printed word in Gothic/Old German script but the handwriting does take some work sometimes.
