such remarks and the ones below are why we love our teachers so much and will never forget about them for the rest of live, who as to their profession were described by an unknown source as human beings explaining problems to their class, the poor pupils wouldn’t have had without her or him.
It is beyond me why the chatter of forum-members from the Anglo-Saxon community, on the English forum, where else?, on this globe asking their native German colleges for a correct translation of an English phrase, which they feel has not been translated correctly from the German original, especially when our Anglo-Saxon friends seem to have a pretty good “grip” of the German language such as we Germans would like to have of the English/American/Australian etc – language once at awhile, be characterised as inconsequential chatter and/or light weight argument and thus a misuse of forum-rules.
I mean how much more consequent and argumentatively speaking can you get than asking your German counterpart interested in the same subject to help solving a translation-problem from German to English and back. Surely good old Gummi doesn’t expect his forum-members from the Anglo-Saxon-area to engage certified translators, who probably don’t know their you know what from a whole in the ground when being asked what a certain Captain of a certain German-boat said on a certain patrol to a certain IWO in certain depicted sequins in a certain movie. “I’ll need a retainer of so and so much”, because I have to go to the library, first read the book, then watch the movie and then think about it or even have to contact u.boat-drivers of both languages.
What Gummi does expect is that his national soccer team beats the living daylights out of the Germans on Saturday in Hamburg. Gummi, if you guys win I owe you a case of fine German beer, with which to back up such an “inconsequential ??” result. Please let me know where to send it to.
Furthermore, at least I don’t think so, Gummi would expect the German trying to help with a translation to reply to such an request to the Anglo-Saxon, “please look for the translation at the German language forum”, which he would have to back up also and/or anyway. If the “inconsequential” chatter and or/light arguments are divided between the English and German part of the form wouldn’t make no difference as to the amount of data – “crab” running through the back-up-machine, as far as my very little knowledge about a computer would suggest.
Well, my dear teacher and charming genius of u-boat-matters, let’s not be to picky and besides light weights arguments can make you find the heavy ones a lot easier, everyone of course by his own interpretation of the forum rules, which indeed might differ ones in a while by the “little boys” on this “chatterbox”.
