Hi Annox,

We have Leutnant Werner's "Mensch" CD and I've played it over many, many times. His song about his wife is a real heart-breaker. I like his style a lot. They call him the "Bruce Springsteen of Germany", a good comparison (I'm also a Springsteen fan.) I think he did a very good job in the movie, although "Leutnant Werner" is a totally different character from "Leutnant Buchheim."

It's strange that the new DVD would be described as being only in English. Anyone out there have an explanation? The English version is pretty bad, though the English subtitles are much more accurate than the original ones. Play both at the same time (English dubbing, English subtitles) and you get two different scripts! Wahnsinning, oder--?
