History Launched as HMS Myrmidon (G 90) for the Royal Navy, completed in November 1942 as ORP Orkan for the Polish Navy. 
Notes on event

At 07.05 hours on 8 October 1943, ORP Orkan (Cdr Stanislaw Hryniewiecki) was hit by a Gnat from U-378 while escorting convoy SC-143 and sank within five minutes. The commander, eleven officers, 167 ratings and seven British crew members were lost. One officer, 39 ratings and three British crew members were picked up by HMS Musketeer (G 86) (Cdr R.L. Fisher, OBE, DSO, RN).

At 21.58 hours on 7 October 1943, ORP Orkan had been missed by a Gnat from U-758 (Manseck) which detonated in her wake.
